Not when it's done right. We remove the old unit from the inside, keep the brick opening intact, and finish with proper brickmould or panning — never just caulk. Nothing is cut unless you're changing the size.
Can you replace old aluminum sliders?
Yes — and it's usually the first thing we recommend. A modern fiberglass or clad slider from Marvin or Milgard seals and glides nothing like a 1980s aluminum unit.
Do you do basement egress windows?
Yes. Egress requires a permit and often a window well and some concrete work; we handle the opening, the unit and the inspection, and coordinate the well and cutting.
